Kirsten Ricafort

Secretary

Another West-Island girl, Kirsten has spent most of her life in the art world. First, she studied Professional Theatre for Costume Design at John Abbott College. Later, pursuing her passion for hair, Kirsten graduated from Gordon Robertson Beauty Academy before pursuing a career as a stylist for 10 years. By the time Kirsten entered the healthcare domain, she had accumulated 16 years of experience in customer service and client experience. She was quick to answer the call of social duty in the beginning of the pandemic. She started working at West-Island’s Lakeshore General Hospital (LGH) in early 2020, where she embodied the front-line healthcare worker: Kirsten would have been the first person you would be greeted by at the Emergency Department (ED), always with a smile. Here, Kirsten would offer her watchful eyes, her attentive ears and helping hands to anxiously waiting patients; a pack of ice for a sore limb, a gentle push on a wheelchair, or a calming conversation with those who needed it. It was in the always bustling waiting room of LGH ED that Kirsten discovered her love for patient care. Kirsten loves to connect with people; she has South American roots after all. Nothing makes her happier than being able to brighten up someone’s moment. There is nothing more rewarding to her than knowing you feel cared for and dignified, and to see you leave ISMI with hope and a smile. Kirsten is the lead secretary at ISMI.
