Not sure you remember me. I wanted to thank you for the incredible experience I had with you when I was at my most vulnerable and anxious.

 

You diagnosed me with stage 1 ovarian cancer after a large cyst had been discovered on my right ovary. You had gotten me in for an MRI the very next day and saw me in person after my MRI with the images. You took all the time I needed to be explained everything and reassured me. My whole journey with this cancer started with you and as weird as this may sound, I am grateful it did.

 

You sat with me while I called my wife on speaker so we could talk to her together. You sat with me while you called Radimed and made my MRI appointment for me for the next day.

 

After having my complete hysterectomy and oophorectomy by Dr. … in …, they confirmed the diagnoses of Stage 1c High Grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma.

 

I am doing my 6th and final round of chemotherapy in 2 weeks followed by a routine baseline scan and will be followed for 10 years very closely.

 

I was mad at you at first, mad that you thought you thought you could know I had cancer without a biopsy being done.

 

In retrospect now, I realize I probably went into survival mode / denial and just couldn’t physically bring myself to believing it, so I needed someone to blame.

 

I needed to put this in writing and get it off my chest that I am eternally grateful for how quickly you acted, how seriously you took me, and how kind you were through it all.
